Christine Scharmer recently retired after teaching elementary school for thirty-three years in the Mt. Diablo Unified School District, where she taught Grades K through 4. She received her B.A. in Psychology from San Francisco State University and both standard and special education teaching credentials from St. Mary’s College in Moraga.
After her eighteen- year- old son’s car crash in 2002 she began writing her first book, “Raising Mario Twice.” It was published in October 2009.
Christine started her speaking career by presenting Mario’s and her story to churches, stroke and brain injury recovery groups, and “Victim Impact Panels” for MADD.
Raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Christine lives in Martinez with her husband Mark. Her two sons live nearby and help Christine spread her message of love and how it can transform a life.
