The County Board of Supervisors and the Arts and Culture Commission of Contra Costa County presented a 2011 Arts Recognition Award to Mario.
Mario will receive the award in person on May 8th.

Mario made friends with a band at the de Young “Art Slam” program. His painting “Open Brand New” was shown as a slideshow.
Mario says “I am Mar Bar the Guru of love.” He was at a fundraising event at the Veterans Memorial Building in Martinez on Sunday 2-26-12.
On Sunday, February 26th, from 3:30 – 6:30 p.m. there will be a fundraiser sponsored by Veteran’s Memorial Building in Martinez, California, in support of former Alhambra High School student, Allison Angove. In addition to food, raffles, and a silent auction, the new band PUSH, with ABC7News Anchor Dan Ashley as lead singer, will be performing.
