High-five Mario – You are a breathe of fresh air. I had the pleasure of meeting Mario today along with Ken. We immediately bonded after I commented on his happiness. He was telling us all in Trader Joe’s that he was happy. I have been going through a lot lately and just 6 months ago survived a motorcycle accident coming home from a memorial and have a scar along the left side of my face. I don’t know why I am writing you this. But somehow my spirit was lifted today and even if it only for a moment it gives me hope. Your story is my inspiration. My daughter and I had the chance to meet Mario and his wonderful mother at a surivor meeting in San Ramon, I’m hoping to get my son to another meeting so he can meet Mario and have hope for himself. My thoughts are with you often. I hope to be able to attend the next meeting and see Mario again even if I can’t get my son to go with me, he inspires me so deeply.

I have had feedback from several families so far that had similar challenges. It is great to hear from all of you. I was driven to write our story and hope it will help the thousands whom have suffered. We have got to stick together and embrace love. We are all one.

We are on a mission to spread love and hope to everyone facing a life challenge. If you want to be a Mario fan our book is on Facebook too. Mario is getting his own apartment in the next couple of weeks. He will still have attendants but this is a big step for him. Be Love, Christine

How fortunate we are to have read the article in the Contra Costa Times on Saturday I can’t wait to order your book! My daughter was in a similar accident a year ago, and our family is travelling along a route similar to Mario’s.
I embrace every bit of information I can get on TBI and I commend Mario’s Mom …as I also feel that I have been in training all my life to be able to stay strong and mighty to tackle this new roll.

Many years ago I worked with a young man who had sustained traumatic brain injury. He was an inspiration to those of us who grumble about silly stuff or forget to be grateful for what we have. Ron always had a smile and was eager to help. I’m sure Mario’s parents look forward to the day when he will have a job and feel independent. Mario is a lucky guy!

My grandson Alex was in Christine’s class that year and I helped a little bit with Mario. You could tell Christine was not going to give up on her child. My son-in-law went to the hospital and played and sang Elvis songs on his guitar to Mario and we all believed that Mario knew we were there. Christine worked night and day for her son and I don’t believe she ever felt sorry for herself. She is a godsend to all of her students and family. I will never forget her she is an angel and I love her. Also, seeing Mario come to school with her on special occasions was awesome. He is a dear boy and is so loving. Thank god for Christine and her husband,
